Collaborate to Learn and Learn to Collaborate

Le, T.

Collaborative learning is in contrast to the competitive process usually seen in a classroom. It is argued here that the Web can be used constructively to create a collaborative learning discourse. A case study was conducted to examine how the use of the Web could enable students and teachers to work collaboratively in a university context. This paper examines the notion of collaborative learning in a learner-centred curriculum, the role of the Web in collaborative learning, and finally what the case study reveals to us about creating a collaborative learning environment with the use of the Web.
