Procedures and Resources for Authors of Accepted Papers
This page outlines the procedure for authors who have had a paper accepted in a CRPIT conference or workshop.
If your paper is accepted and is to be printed, you will have received notification from the Programme Chair of the Conference concerned. If you have not received this (and you think you should have done), please contact your Conference Programme Chair (not us).
- You are urged to take this opportunity to revisit the paper to ensure that any comments or suggestions proffered by the referees or, in the case of a post-proceedings volume, at the conference itself (or elsewhere) are included.
- Your paper should be formatted according to the styles as outlined in the rtf or style files below. Every effort should made to adhere to this look-and-feel. (Previous examples are available elsewhere on the website). Note that only pdf files should be provided as camera ready as other formats tend to mutate! Common formatting errors include:
- Not using A4 paper (US letter is not acceptable). Make sure, for example, you have the -tA4 option in the dvi2ps or ps2pdf step if you use that method.
- Having the authors names of the title in all capitals.
- Omitting email addresses.
- Using images that do not copy well. Subtle greyscale definition may be lost.
- Including page numbers.
- Forgetting the copyright statement.
- Files should be given names that will mean something to the compilers of the volume - mypaper.pdf is less than useful, whereas roddick.pdf would be better.
- Camera-ready files should then be sent, in pdf only, by the due date, to the programme chair of your conference or elsewhere as directed by your PC Chair (not to CRPIT). Papers not sent to the PC Chair by the due date run the risk of being omitted from the volume.
Registration and Attendance at Event
Please note that it is CRPIT policy that at least one author of all accepted papers to the conferences and workshops in the series would both register and present at the event concerned. Failure to do so without a reason acceptable to the organisers of the event will result in the paper being retrospectively withdrawn from both the proceedings and all citation sources.
It is also CRPIT policy that all papers be original and not concurrently submitted elsewhere. Once again, we reserve the right to retrospectively withdraw a paper from the proceedings if we later find this not to be the case.
Copyright Formalities
For legal reasons, the Acceptance and Copyright Transfer Form should be either be:
- electronically signed and sent to the CRPIT Editorial Office,
- printed off, signed, scanned in and sent to the CRPIT Editorial Office, or
- printed off, signed and sent hardcopy to the CRPIT Editorial Office at Flinders University. The address is:
Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology
CRPIT Editorial Office
School of Computer Science, Engineering and Mathematics
Flinders University
PO Box 2100
Adelaide 5001
SOUTH AUSTRALIA
You will also need to add a suitable copyright statement to your paper as follows:
Copyright (c)year, Australian Computer Society, Inc. This paper appeared at conference name and place. Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology, Vol. volno. Editors, Eds. Reproduction for academic, not-for profit purposes permitted provided this text is included.
Assuming the CRPITStyle file is being used, the LaTeX source should include something like either:
\newcommand\conferencenameandplace{Thirty-First Australasian Computer Science Conference (ACSC2008), Wollongong, Australia}
\newcommand\volumenumber{74}
\newcommand\conferenceyear{2008}
\newcommand\editorname{Gillian Dobbie and Bernard Mans} (leave off affiliations of editors)
\toappearstandard (or \newcommand\copyrightholder{Commonwealth of Australia}
\toappeargovwork for Government Work)
or
\toappear{Copyright \copyright conference year, Australian Computer Society, Inc. This paper appeared at conference name and location. Conferences in Research and Practice in Information Technology, Vol. volno. Editors, Ed. Reproduction for academic, not-for profit purposes permitted provided this text is included.}
after the /maketitle line. Details, including volume numbers, editors, etc. of upcoming conferences are listed on the upcoming conferences page and below:
