Where Does the Superhighway Lead Us? A Learners' Perspective

Le, Q. and Le, T.

The Web is viewed metaphorically as a superhighway, which travels across many lands and cultures. It has become a powerful tool and resource in education, particularly for on-line teaching. Web-based teaching can provide an interactive environment in which students can work collaboratively to enhance their learning. Courseware has been introduced to reinforce or replace face-to-face teaching. As students are the clients of Web-based education, it is important to find out how they perceive the role of the Web in teaching and learning. A brief discussion is presented here about a case study conducted with university students to find out their evaluative views of the role of the Web in education.
