Should we assess our students' attitudes?
Fuller, U. and Keim, B.
Professional skills and attitudes form an increasingly
large part of the requirements of computer science
graduates. Students are assessed on their knowledge and
cognitive skills but not on the attitudes that will lead them
to practice in the workplace what they have been taught in
the classroom. This paper argues that it is necessary to
assess attitudes as well as cognitive achievements and that
this is feasible within existing curricula. |
