Multimodal User Interface Facilitating Critical Data Entry for Traffic Incident Management

Taib, R., Shi, Y., Choi, E., Chen, F., Sladescu, M. and Phung, N.

Efficient road traffic incident handling is essential to the overall operations of transport management. Traffic incident handling requires fast and accurate retrieval of contact information for senior executives, as well as that for the intervention crew near the incident location. A user interface mock-up based on multimodal user interaction technology is presented to provide traffic control operators with an intuitive, cognitively effective and efficient way to record traffic incident conditions and facilitate fast retrieval of contact details.
