Computer-Based Safety Critical Systems in Defence: Def (Aust) 5679

Cant, T.

    The Australian Defence Standard Def (Aust) 5679, entitled 'The Procurement of Safety-Critical Computer-Based Systems', was developed by the Australian Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO), and published by the Land Engineering Agency in August 1998. It describes a systematic approach ot the development of the Safety Case for a computer-based system. This paper gives a brief overview of Def (Aust) 5679, and describes plans for further technical revision.
